Bakht Singh (1751-52) / Bijay Singh (1752-93), Silver Rupee in the name of Ahmad Shah Bahadur, Dar al-Mansur Jodhpur Mint, AH1265/5. Very Fine, Very Rare.Minting of coins at Jodhpur began during the reign of Bakht Singh. The very first issue in the name of Ahmad Shah Bahadur, AH1164/4, has at the bottom, the mint name Garh Jodhpur. These coins were probably struck on the occasion when Bakht Singh ascended the throne at Jodhpur on 8 July 1751. After this earliest issue, coins continued to be struck, but now with the mint name Dar al Mansur Jodhpur on the top line of the reverse. Bakht Singh died on 21 September 1752 and was succeeded by Bijay Singh. The rupee in question could either be the issue of Bakht Singh or of Bijay Singh.
