Footnote: Amol was amongst the most important and the most ancient towns of the Sasanian Empire. It was the capital of Tabaristan(Mazandaran) and for the long time after the Arab conquest, it presevered its Ispehbeds or Independent princes of the Zoroastrian faith, these princes never inscribed the name of Amol on their coins but used the principality Tapuristan(Tpurstan). So Khusro the second’s coins were the last coins to bear the mint name Amol.
